  15. In retrospect, this was all because of Japan. Taiwan was ceded to Japan with 1895 Treaty of Shimonoseki. Japanese–Korea Treaty of Amity also ended Korea's status as a protectorate of China. Japan carved up a huge part of China it's dominance in Asia even pre-communism.

  49. My relatives are also Malaysians. I used to dislike China and Mainlanders and prefer Taiwanese. But sometimes I also feel sad for Mainlanders, they suffered so much from invasions, genocides and now communism. They do make lots of mistakes like giving Han Chinese a bad image with tourists abroad, SARS, COVID19, spreading Red Commie values. We definitely can't be united with them. But do remember the native Malays also hate Chinese alot.
