  1.  @goncalovazpinto6261 - “real waste product is carbon” No, it is not a waste product. It is the element of life in the biosphere. Just time to recycle it, by capture, conversion to bio-fuel, and hold it in tanks until needed, or use it for vehicles & planes & drones.

  2. Now — can the remains of burning coal be used as the contents of the battery, instead of sand??? Every existing coal power plant could then transition to become grid batteries, until they are no longer needed, or they could remain as peaker plants to produce power, in a pinch.
