In this film the actor Bale would have the most power unless the producers decided enough. The reason some directors have to put up with this is due to the fact they do not have much power because they may be only starting out or might be their big break and they do not want issues with the producers. I do not think this would occur with Spielberg or Marvel

Even the director in this situation would have little power. Only a big director would have power in this situation. Bale never would have done this on Batman. Unless the director knows that he is fragile to start of with and is willing to put up with this behavior for an amazing performance.
