  1. No it does not have equal. China's economy is worth about 7 trillion per year while the US is about 15 trillion. China has a population of about 1.3 billion the US has about 315 million. It is now where near equal. China has a lot of good going for it and I have not doubt they will be challenge other countries but they still have a long way to go.

  3. European parents? People moved to America to escape tyranny from Europe. Most countries in Europe cannot afford their welfare states.

  4. But why is then that the American education system produces more search than any other country. Apple, Google and Microsoft are not from Finland. Yes there are countries out there with better primary education systems but that does not mean that America is terrible. I raised my children in America to get them away from socialist Britain.

  5. Socialist healthcare, socialist education and socialist housing (biggest in Europe). Yes this make Britain a socialist country. Why how do you define socialism.

  6. Ranking systems are for politics as are most rating systems. Scandinavia in General has a better approach to education than most other western countries. Finland is unique in what it does and this system should be replicated.

  7. How many other countries go by the tile america that you are aware of. Consumerism=people. Lets be totally honest about this. People deserve cheap products and goods. That is the point of consumerism it helps everybody. What would you prefer a USSR typed controlled economy were consumers are controlled to the point they have to wait 10 years for some products.

  8. If that is the case then why is America the most successful economy in the world. Why has more innovation come out of America than any other country. Microchips and Internet came out of America and they revolutionized the world. America leads the world in research and there third level education system excels at this.

  9. I am not American I am British. Britain is a mess at the moment and has been for the last 20 years and it is slowly going down hill. America at present is in stagnation but if it gets its act together then it will leave many other countries behind in its path. America developed the integrated circuits and the internet and this has been one of its engines. And it leads the world in IT which is the back bone for technological development. I am a pragmatic person who uses data.

  10. That was a bad typo on my behalf. I meant research. I would not say as a whole that the US education system is worse than other countries. There are area's were countries like Finland, Norway and Sweden excel at in education but you will find that they are well ahead of other socialist countries as well. I do not think it is possible for the US to follow the Finish system.

  12. On average such as a performance analysis finish primary and secondary schools are better than the US. But then Finnish schools are better than everybody else as well. But that does not mean that the Finnish education system is better as a whole. And it does not mean that the US education system is terrible. Could American schools do better by adapting different methods of course.

  13. The only mechanism that can be used to judge socialism is centralization. It require centralized management structure such as the UK system has were it takes up to about 60% of wealth and then creates a management system out of this. If it is no centralized then it is not socialism as it would mean everybody has a different system. I am not against socialism if done right like some of the Nordic models. The best economics systems us mixed economic both free market and socialized.

  14. Then why did not none of these countries invent the internet or companies such as google, apple or Microsoft. Why is it that the US is the world richest country if all these countries are more competitive. Competitiveness Index cannot measure every single detail of economics. I could list you hundreds of metrics that are used and most of them to be honest are just useless. The US has the biggest and most successful economy even though it is in a recession at the moment.

  15. All the economies you have listed could fit inside the US economy with lots of room to fit. The countries you have listed are good countries and I have a lot of respect for them. In the last 20 years Singapore has made massive steps forward and there health system is one to be admired. But none of that make these countries more successful than the US. Some of the US corporations would be bigger than Singapore and Finland combined.

  16. Yes these countries are successful but for some reason people will time and again say they are better. When it comes to 3rd level education the US is years a head of other countries and that includes Finland. Could the US model be better yes it could but if it does then it will be lights out for a lot of these other countries. The US is just cruising at the moment but if it raises a gear then it will leave the other countries behind.

  17. And Europeans did not come from Europe. You could trace this all back to Africa. In a modern sense America has been the most successful economy in the last 100 years. There is a reason why the american economy is twice the size of China.

  18. You are using US based systems right now and if you look around you will find a lot of the technological infrastructure has a US basis. The worlds largest exporter is the US. Debt is relative to productivity and cannot be compared to other nations who have there own currencies and methods of modelling economics. Name a country that has better economic competitive conditions.
