  5. No. What they are trying to do is scare the social media companies into thinking they are about to called in. Social media companies are either a publisher which means they have full rights to free speech but they will be liable for everything stated on their platform even if it is statements by conspiracy theorists. If they are a utility on the other hand they are not entitled to free speech but the actual people using the platforms are entitled to free speech so the media companies cannot edit.

  6. Twitter is not entitled to free speech as it is not twitter that is making the speech. The media companies are either a utility or a publisher. Section 230 states that they cannot be classified as a publisher but that means they cannot edit speech either.
