Deep state has nothing to do with this. The deep state is just a group of civil servants who are really not that clever to be honest. No this was an action by Iran. The problem the president has is he does not want to over react since no lives were lost but at the same time he cannot show weakness to the Iranians. Iran only respects one thing and that is an act of force. Just wait to see what happens.

Bolton knows exactly how the tyrannical Iran works. They for the history of the Ayatollah have been doing things like this. Iran is always a threat probably more so than Iraq ever was. I think the US invaded Iraq to send a message to the likes of Iran that simply has not worked. If the US does nothing now it will need to act some time down the line.

That is not what happened. He probably is now giving Iran a chance to either make a good decision or to do something really stupid that will give the US military an excuse to hit hard and send out a big message.

That is nonsense. Iran is about to collapse economically and it needs to make some sort of a statement. The problem is that the US will now for the next 6 months think of a way to respond that is thousands of times more damaging to Iran. Iran is not being run by sensible people and for the last 40 years it has been a shambles.

Maybe Trump is offering up a pawn and the Iranians may do something stupid next that will give the US an excuse to doing something much bigger. Would Iran be stupid enough to try and attack a US warship?
