  2. Trump's trade policy is straight out of the US circa 1950s and 60s when America was the most power economy in the world. Tariffs were used throughout US history that protected states manufacturing and US economy. Once Tariffs went US car industry slowly collapsed. As it was the only thing that stopped foreign car manufacturers from destroying the US industry. In the 1960s a US car was the third of the price of a mercedes yet was on par with it in terms of quality.

  3. +Calvin Blue Your argument makes no sense at all. There is already a closed market system in place that allows goods to be produced in China under lower tariff comparisons with the US. That are then allowed to be introduced to the US market place with advantages over American products. The reason why foreign goods such as cars are out competing US made is that they have a massive built in manufacturing trade agreement. In the 1950s and 60s American cars were in a league of their own and then special trade agreements allowed Europeans and Asians to come in and destroy the US market. Trade agreements allow Foreign goods to be made at a higher quality than US goods of a similar retail price.
