+Whrd Walker What about cold showers at the beach.

His point was that rappers have their culture of gold chains and bankers have their culture of watches. Now that does not mean Bankers do not wear gold chains or that rappers do not wear Pateks.
1
Bankers gave us the modern world. What bankers have done is allowed normal working people to buy homes. When there was no bankers people lived in houses belonging to rich lords and the land they farmed belonged to the rich lords. You need to think or do some research before you speak.
1
If your friends all drive Mercedes, BMW or Rolls and all wear watches the price of a house you are hardly going to impress them.
1
I am sure the person who buys the 35 grand watch will also go on cruises if they desire and they probably go skiing as well and Scuba diving. They probably fly business or first class as well. They probably drive a BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Rolls or Bentley.
1
It may keep working but it is a mechanical device that has wear within its movements and if you leave it too long it may require a complete overhaul. Depending on the watch every 5 years a clean up and check and a little lubrication will do it no harm.
1
Clearly you are hanging out with the wrong people. Everybody I know has a watch.
1
It had nothing to do with making money.
1
@shuki1 It has nothing to do with wages. The US as a policy has tried to use their trading, manufacturing and inventory systems to make the world peaceful and to try and turn murdering countries into good guys. It just has not worked.
1
Only the left thinks of a tax break as giving subsidies. I be your region collected far more taxes over the period even though the rates were lower.
1
There is nothing wrong with Arabs. They have issues with their culture but that is not the same as saying there is something wrong with Arabs.
1
Spiritual? That is just mystical and holds no scientific value what so ever. Human consciousness is derived from electrical activity in the brain just as a worm has neural electro-activity in clusters. Pain is a chemical reaction in the brain and people who lack this chemical reaction can some times not feel pain. So are those types of people any less human in your eyes.
1
The 5nm sizes being claimed to not actually mean anything.
1
The US has a massive microchip requirement that is going to get stronger as the years advance.
1
I am assuming that you mean we have not dealt with all of mankinds problems. The type of science and technology that will take us to mars will also help us on earth.
1
Computing power is growing exponentially so by the time we reach the mid 2020s computing power will be more than what is required to do a human brain level simulation. A fruit fly simulation was not possible 20 years ago and neither was parts of the human brain. I remember 15 years ago that people said an insect brain could not be done and when it was point out that by 2010 there would be the computing power people did not believe this. This also applied to the human genome.
1
$50k is a start why be pessimistic when 20 years ago most of this would have been considered Science fiction. We will have the capabilities in 10 years to go to mars but will we is another question.
1
Are you claiming that pain is not part of the nervous system. Yes or no.
1
What if you construct a machine that is an exact replica of the body with nerves and also with nanotechnology cells that are an exact replica even down to genetics. Will that machine be able to feel pain.
1
It will more than likely occur in the 2020s. When there will be super computers that will have the power and the human brain will have been studied in enough detail for computer architecture to be constructed in a fashion that will allow brain computer simulation. The future is much closer than what people realize. We are now only starting to touch the surface of the concept of quantum computing and that will be truly revolutionary and the human brain will be tiny in comparison.
1
The technology that will allow us to live on mars will also be the technology that will transform our civilization. The things I talk of are nanotechnology, computing, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, energy abundance and space travel. Humans do not use 98% of the space on earth nor do we even use the oceans at present. Education and material abundance will get rid of the slums. Mars and the moon will probably be our first engineered space habitats. Its a brave new solar system.
1
Pain is a warning and defense mechanism even animals have this. Pain is also subjective as some people cannot feel pain. It is obvious you cannot prove any of what you talk about.
1
@Izann1 When he is asked to leave he has to do so. The parents are nothing to do with it.
1
Technologies like Watson and Google Glass combined will enable very power intelligence amplification systems. So a 15 year old will being performing mathematics at the level of a Phd student.

@Alexander-vg4ss Socialism is not compatible with capitalism. It is like saying a little bit pregnant. Socialism is about complete control and ownership of everything from money, property and labour by the whole economy. That means you would not be allowed to own anything and would also be subject to the system of socialism. There is no half way in between. People confuse a social contract with socialism so you will hear people talking about fire service and police being socialism when they are nothing of the sort.

Many of them were hurt as well. Many lost their jobs, homes and careers after that. One minute they are working a 70 hour week getting very well paid the next they are struggling with their mortgage and with no end in sight for them. It was the banks board, government, state and banking industry as a whole that was to blame. The people you see in that video are only mid level management they are not the real deal or decision makers. Everyone you seen in that video was in the dark as to the decisions that were being made. I know somebody who lost their job in the financial industry and never got it back again. Today their life is a complete struggle and what they had previously seems like a dream. Some would have recovered but for every one that did there is a person who did not.

Part 1 5% of a billion is 50,000,000 were as 5% of a 1000 is only 50. It is not worth an everyday workers time to invest at only a $50 return were as with a billion it is a whole different ball game. Most active professional investors do not beat the market and that probably includes Cuban. The market grow at an estimated 10% aprox. Trust me it is very hard to beat the market. Was he a one hit wonder in making a billion in one go yes many people are.
1
He is a guy with money that has to invest it. His strategy can work if used sensibly. Now I am of the complete opposite and want diversification. My portfolio exist of money, land, stocks and shares, Index investment, Direct company shares, Agriculture and cash. My view is that hedged investments are a must so that you do not loose everything or get hammered. His strategy does work as well as long as you do not invest every penny you have which is more than likely what he does.
1
They took a massive hit of course but they are still there if you invested wisely. He did state some useful advice investing in the stock market is not wise for most people. And most people cannot out perform professional investment firms who employ all manner of analysts. If you notice he did not give any direct advise.
1
Governments have to invest and also see a return from their investment we cannot have a situation were government just sits there and gains its income of taxing people it makes not logical sense. They need to partake in the market and for people to stop thinking that the market is actually government that is one of the reasons that so many governments are in massive financial trouble.

Part 2 Elon Musk is an example of a person who has built 2 companies with billion dollar valuations. Can you name others please. Was cuban lucky absolutely not he went and pitched his company to Yahoo and managed a billion dollar plus sale (share options) Do you think that was luck or easy. Do you think the world works that way. Do you know how many people pitch companies everyday with out success. I have been involved in several failures.
1
I am sure he is laughing all the way to the bank. it still stands most people should not go near the stock market even profession active investors struggle to match the market. Over 60% of professional cannot even match market growth so Cuban is right and you are wrong.
1
Your sympathy is irrelevant. Many people lost their way of life because of the crisis. Some never recovered again.
1
The crisis was caused by government interference in the market place.
1
Some of you have hypersonic on the brain yet have no idea what it means.
1
H Ml The officer has every right to draw his gun when being attacked by multiple people. Are you saying it is acceptable for people to interrupt an arrest.
1
@John-yg2rt No they are a sound company that are a good investment. There are other companies out there with a similar outlook. They had a long track record and do not do anything crazy or stupid. When you invest you know what you will get.
1
And what do you do when they are American citizens maybe even 4th generation. And what about Americans who have converted to Islam would you deport them as well. And how would you deport them if they are from America.
