  1. The US military spends 1 trillion a year with 25% of that going towards development. While it is true that the US has decreased in certain areas militarily they have bolstered in other areas.

  2. @dan wee They would not get very far to be honest. They would get cut to shreds. If they are on the ships right now they are starving to death.

  3.  @mofosamo  Such ships would get smashed to pieces as the US would open up on that whole area of ocean. Nobody knows how many missiles the US actually has but at a guess I would say several million. The only advantages the attacking ships would have is surprise and chaos for a couple of hours but the return then would be immense. The US from the ocean can operate over one thousand aircraft and would be the response on Chinese mainland.

  4. Yes that is why they are going to do it. They realize that their own economy is about to shrink and that they will have internal conflict so they need to unite their people to focus on a common enemy. The only thing is China are simply not powerful enough to beat the US and I doubt they are about to roll the dice as gambling is part of their culture.

  6. Hitler was never going to win WW2 when the US got involved. He should have known that invading France would involve the UK and that would lead to the US involvement.
