The US military does not conduct trench warfare. The US prefers mobile aggressive tactics.

It is different for Russia because their war machine relies on artillery in a complete manner. While artillery is needed for the US it is not central of their war doctrine.
19
People in the UK do not want to do that. They are all too busy crying about conservatives and the NHS.
4
When produced in mass no they cost about that. And if they increase production again the price will get lower.
4
@summerodds5281 The US forces using one or two trenches does not make US warfare doctrine trench warfare. I think that is were most of the comments are getting confused. A foxhole for a defensive position for forward troops or spotters or a guard post is not the same as trench warfare. Even in WW2 trench warfare was abandoned. US tactics have always involved mobility.
4
@voutrinho009 I have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan and the US does not use trench warfare. I am not suggesting that the US never uses a trench but that is not the same as trench warfare.
3
US defence spending is not insane. The US welfare state spends about 2.5 trillion per year. The US military budget is about 30% of the welfare expenditure.
3
American industry is massive. Those factories are exactly what they need to be.
3
There needs to be an increase in ammo production. The west needs to get into gear at some point.
3
@Bilangumus You are now just making up conspiracy theories. I had people tell me the same nonsense over 30 years ago with Iraq and Saddam.
2
SO what would you call Russia invading Europe?
2
Doing nothing is million times more expensive.
2
@MiM3-3 Most people have been sold a lie about automation. Certain things require human hands in the process. The idea of a complete automated factory is a myth. Those workers that you see in the video do have the use of automated systems but they are to boost the workers productivity not replace them.
2
Russia is running out. Their volume has dropped in terms of the amount they can saturate the space.
2
@nobodyspecial4702 Today a war act has not been passed.
1
You mean American defence continues?
1
@deepdungeon8465 Modern mobile militaries such as the US can easily call in air support or even use systems to mark missile attacks. Ukraine is not a modern military and would not even be considered that. The US uses mobile tactics just like the Germans did in WW2. The same germans that wiped out the Russian military in operation Operation Barbarossa. The only thing Russia has going for it is the fact it has nuclear weapons.
1
@martenkahr3365 The only way China and Russia would run out of ammo would be if their countries collapsed. US doctrine of war would not change when engaged in a war with Russia. US uses a mixture of mobile and heavy combat. Nuclear missiles is very hard to use in a mobile war because they are not a precision system that can be used for example to stop an attack against Russian forces as Russia does not possess precision nuclear strike capabilities. The Irony is that the US developed precision nuclear warfare and everybody mocked them for it and boasted about how Russian nuclear capabilities were more powerful than American abilities. One of the key aspects of mobile warfare is that it is very hard to predict or to gather intelligence on or to pinpoint in the fog of war. It is one of the reasons why chemical warfare was not used in WW2.
1
@luftwaffles274 Sorry but you are not describing trench warfare. A defensive position either for checkpoint, look out or even to protect in the event of a artillery barrage is not trench warfare. Trench warfare was last fought in WW2 and the US does not practice that as a doctrine and prefers cavalry tactics.
1
@byjynydjshsnny2430 There has not been a real war since WW2.
1
@Suekaaax That is not trench warfare. DO you want to try again. Some of you do not seem to understand what trench warfare is or was.
1
@briant5685 Break western hegemony. So you think Russia is going to be able to fight the west?
1
The exact same thing was happening in the early 1940s in the US. It was only when WW2 started with US involvement did manufacturing completely focus on weapons output. The US now has a far larger inventory than it did in WW2. The US combat air force is now twice as large as China and Russia combined. In WW2 was smaller than the UK or German air force powers. US industry is enormous and people simply do not realize its output but its technological edge is also far beyond that of other countries.
1
@allent.g560 Britain does not use artillery warfare as a foundation of its armed forces Russia does. The UK uses a mixture of highly elite mobile forces, precision air strikes and naval warfare.
1
That makes no sense.
1
When US, Canada and Mexico are combined into a market the outputs will be enormous.
1
@nobodyspecial4702 I meant US not Russia just corrected it.
1
There is a heavy steel industry there as well as light foundries.
1
UK military is in the middle of a massive expenditure program. They are putting two super carriers into operation. Building out an F-35 fleet, creating several new special operations battalions, developing a new missile program, developing a new surveillance warfare programming on top of one of the worlds most advanced radar and detection systems. The UK military is going back to its roots in building a small elite expeditionary force. The UK never had a large standing army.
1
@briant5685 Russia is only out producing the US in Ammo because it needs shells as it only has artillery based warfare. If the US goes into a war economy like Russia it will out produce Russia by a factor of 100.
1
@Ekcelent Russia has not been able to break through hence why they are throwing 5 times as many men into the battle. Did you think they were doing that for the fun of it. No they are doing it because Ukrainian mobile forces have been out performing Russian forces to date. We will see now if Russia can saturate the space with those number of troops.
1
It has always been the case. People have just deluded them self for the last 30 years with the idea of some global peaceful order.
1
That sounds like a lot of nonsense. So I guess you are calling the Russian forces rich?
1
No they have woken up. They are trying to threads lightly on the issue and trying not to make things noticeable. Them dragging their heels over the tanks is one sign of them doing that.
1
The US is the largest producer of natural gas and oil in the world.
1
Pretty much so. All it did was to enrich them and allow them to build a military force again to start attacking. I suspect it will not happen again. This will be the end of Russia as we know it.
1
The US is buying South Korean weapons to try and build their industry up. They are doing the same with Taiwan. It is one of the reasons why the US supports the arms industry pf German industry. The French have been able to do it on their own without any assistance from the US as have the UK.
1
@Phillip Banes I never said it could not be increased or that their would be no effort. My point is automation has been overhyped and that people are still required in manufacturing. You do know that Iphones are assembled by workers and not completely automated. Real manufacturing is a mixture of manual labour and automation.
1
The vast majority of Americans are behind it. Most realize that if Russia is not stopped it will tend move on to Poland and then it will be in central Europe. Everybody deep down knows where all of this is head but are just too scared to openly admit where this is going. The US has been sending open messages to the Chinese that it will not tolerate weapons being transferred to Russia.
1
Ukraine prepared he best they could considering the circumstances. There is only so much a country with an economy the size of Ukraine can do. Ukraine has a GDP that is 15 times smaller than Pennsylvania when compared to population.
1
@BoliceOccifer He said anything as a threat implying that as a justification to criticize the US.
1
Yes tell that to the Nazis and Communists.
1
The US has an absolute abundance of steel and iron. The US also has an industrial base that is capable of recycling up to 95% of it steel if it needs to.
1
Until they meet a small US expeditionary force that pushed them back.
