America is unique as It has the world's largest single consumer market, deep resources, market economy and competition between the states.

@cedricdellafaille1361 Ireland is nothing like Panama so people need to stop with the stupid comparisons. Ireland is a European state with lower taxes and lower regulations when it comes to corporations. So while it is true that apple has a tax base in Ireland it also employs about 10000 people in Ireland.

@this_is_japes7409 ASML are a holding company and are made up of smaller America companies who the US government gave permission to be sold to ASML because the US has the idea that by allowing trade and prosperity to expand world wide that it would create a more stable world. Hence why the US helped China to set up an expand.
5
You cannot force Europe to be like the US with a single market. It is a dream or fantasy that cannot be achieved.
5
@inomo People keep bringing up ASML but they do not understand that it is based on US industry not European industry. The US government gave them permission to buy smaller US companies and US patents. There cutting edge laser technology for example is completely US based.
5
Median US income is $70000 per year which is liable for about 12% tax and in Europe that income would be taxed at near 50%. It is impossible in Europe to set up a small business and grow it.
4
Nope you are just making stupid excuses. Volkswagen has 600,000 employees and a revenue of €250 billion. This is typically the mind of those that exist in the EU looking for excuses as to why the American market is more successful than those of European countries. In WW1 America had a market that was 10 times larger than that of the UK.
4
Again that is just nonsense and not the reason why the American market is bigger and better than any european country.
3
@NMY232 They maybe low tax by European standards not by US standards though. The median income in the US is $70000 with a tax liability of about 12% and in any european country that income would be taxed at almost 50%. A small business being run in America has far lower tax burden than in Europe. So while people may look at say Switzerland or Luxembourg they are not comparable to any state in the US when it comes to taxes.
3
Pure fantasy.
3
ASML is really based on US industry not Netherlands or European industry.
2
Europe has no market for semiconductors hence why it does not have anything like AMD, Fairchild or Intel. .
2
You are talking nonsense at best and just spouting media political activism. Liz \Truss wants to implement a free market approach to grow the UK rather than using a failed European market approach. There is a reason why Germany is about to collapse and why Italy, Spain and Greece are failures.
2
That is just pure fantasy.
2
Median income in the US is $70000 per year and no European country can offer that. US has a 95% private healthcare coverage and in Europe poor workers would need permission from the government for healthcare. They all have to line up for permission.
2
@_Kiren_ You are making up excuses as to why Europe is a failing market place.
2
People use US dollar because it is the most stable currency in the world.
2
US military keeps Europe alive so clearly Europe just sits back and lets the US defend it.
2
@Fantastika Median income in the Germany is $32000 per year and in the US it is $70000 show how is EU having a better quality of life? I do hope the heating works this winter in Europe.
2
It is part of the same economic culture that is how.
2
US has a median income that is twice that of any European country. Europe has a quality of life myth that keeps getting repeated over and over while they all live in their small freezing apartments pretending that Russia does not exist and that the evil capitalists in America are to blame.
2
Detroit is in Michigan which as a state would be far nicer to live in than any European country. The median income in Michigan is $60000 per year which is still higher than any european country .
1
Still not the reason why it existed as a center of innovation.
1
@mammajamma4397 You are just living in a fantasy of your own making. European industry is not comparable to US industry.
1
Europe already does that.
1
Not even comparable to any of the US industrial hubs.
1
ASML would not exist without the US economic engine.
1
Your statement holds no truths of any type. Europe would not exist without American military defence.
1
The US has a large number of SME's as well but they are not service providers to the larger companies and tend to trade independently.
1
Europe is small fry compared to the US.
1
@ritemolawbks8012 Before WW1 US economic output was 10 times larger than the UK. I am afraid the post WW2 myth that everybody is just repeating is nonsense. UK GDP in 1910 was 2 billion and in the US its GDP was 30 billion.
1
@ClannCholmain The US is the easiest country in the world to get rich.
1
Europe has not been relevant in innovation for the last 100 years.
1
There was semiconductors in WW2. They were not integrated circuits of transistors if that is what you think of semiconductors. Diodes are an example of a semiconductor used in WW2 in radio and radar systems.
1
China does not have a consumer market that is even competitive with what Europe has.
1
@tedcrilly46 Britain has a ruthless culture when it comes to PM. There is nothing new in that.
1
It is not as simply as just matching. The US has a completely different type of market place. So when you say match would you for example go with US healthcare, US low income taxes and the right for European citizens to own guns. If you want all of that then yes Europe in 100 years time may match the US.
