  1. If they can reduce the overall tax burden on the economy and then direct any such taxes by legislation so that it is ring fenced to pay directly for the roads we may be onto a winner. The democrats and their media friends will claim Trump is increasing taxes so he is lying. They did the same with Reagan claiming he increased taxes 5 times but left out that it was very specific tax increases for direct funding.

May it is so expense because there are global warming taxes that raise money to be sent abroad and maybe because corporation tax is 35% and some employees of the oil companies are paying 50% taxation. If all of these taxes are cut maybe Trump could increase a sales tax on gas to pay directly for the roads.

Maybe he will make it cost less by taxing the companies directly which cannot allow the overall price to go down but at the same time increase the federal tax on gas to pay directly for the road system. I would not mind an increase in taxation in one area providing my over all tax bill is reduced. We need to see the whole picture first before we freak out.

  4. Maybe the fed can reduce its overall taxation burden on the economy but increase in a few areas where it makes sense. If they get the economy going as a whole but increase in targeted areas where the actual collection of taxes pays directly for a service such as roads may makes sense. But lets not freak out about one thing that may not actually happen.
