Unfortunately there is going to be a cadre of companies that have invested too much into Asian manufacturing to be able to return and what will happen to them is that competitors that do have plants in the US will outcompete them.

@gausselim1474 It is unfortunate because there are going to be companies that make good products that are going to fall into decline. We are going to see a few slew of kodak's popping up.

@gausselim1474 There is several different combinations of overseas outsourcings. From simply buying of products made by factories based in an Asian countries through to full plant build out in an asian country and lots of different options in between that as well. There are medium sized companies that would have revenues in the hundreds of millions that have invested into Asian countries because for many that was the environment they functioned in. I for years had my businesses undercut by businesses that were outsourced and I had whole firms of consultants trying to advise me to outsource to bring down costs. There was lot of pressure out there on small and medium sized enterprises. The good to come out of this is that new competitors will pop up in the US hence why a market economy has all the advantages.

Trades and technical college qualifications are going to star to come back into fab. What will happen is that many companies that do not have the labor market will start to create that training. Companies with a small investment can easily fund a local trade college.

@karlcx Still better than the European "free" colleges.

That is all fantasy.

Then name the country you think has the lowest.

@TheReferrer72 Germany invested trillions into renewable energy and at the same time increased its overall carbon output. Many of us have been warning what is coming down the line and yet nobody seems to care. This only the start of what is coming not the end point.

@jamesw1659 Medium sized businesses do not even need to set up brand new colleges they just need to partner with existing colleges. Large corporations can easily build a whole institute for them self that could house tens of thousands of students.

@karlcx Everything.

@PaulVerhoeven2 You are talking crap. US natural citizen birth rate has remained stable over the decades. The US has about 45 million under the age of 20 and as about 25 million from 60 to 80. That is a natural demographic as seen throughout the ages.

@TheReferrer72 That $180 billion is for direct government granting and expenditure. My point was German as in the whole. The EEG has to date cost about €400 billion. The total cost to germany has to include taxation of energy, statuary energy requirements and so on. The projected cost of Energiewende is about €380 billion. In regards to that 40% electricity generation it is only a peak figure generation not total energy created. So that means there are special occasions when the 40% generation is created but there is no means of storing that energy.

You will find that when the industry starts to rise again people will move there.
