  1. They probably do have nuclear weapons that are maintained and do work but not enough to go for full intercontinental exchange. They could fire and maybe hit the US but not have anywhere near enough to immobilize the US who in turn will have enough weapons to fire back.

  2.  @wesc6755  If you listen to what Peter is imply he is saying in the terms of Russia using Nuclear weapons not that they actually will use them. So what sort of scenario would Russia use them for attack. He is saying they would be more purposeful to use against those cities than within Ukraine that their own troops would then have to occupy. People are being too pedantic with what he is saying rather than trying to absorb the greater meaning.

  5. It is not that Russia has no nuclear weapons or that they have no systems that work it is a question of Russia have enough nuclear weapons for full intercontinental exchange with the US. It is one thing to fire a nuclear weapon and an entirely different thing to actually win a war with them.

  6. They probably have an arsenal that is 1% effective with the majority of that being regionally capable so it would work effectively against China on the battlefield. They probably then have a very limited number that can be used for intercontinental exchange but nowhere near enough to take out the US.

  8. The whole radioactive thing about nuclear weapons have been way over played. The real danger with nuclear weapons and their nuclear fallout is based over a few weeks. Nuclear fallout of a power plant is a different animal all together.

  9. They are mechanical systems that have had very small amounts of money spent on them. Highly unlikely that they have a large volume of them. And most are just sitting in cold storage.
