  1. Fossil fuels are processed and that means the part that is best for plastics gets used for that and the process separates the petrol and diesel parts. Very little of it is actually wasted.

  3.  @tommyt1785  Your assertion that there would be enough to go a round would be true in a genuine market economy. That is not the case though for most of the world that is not a true market economy. Most of the world is a top down authoritarian economic model. There is no innovation or development of market practice. What most of the world does is to use western technology and tools for their own ends. Countries that are genuine market economies like Canada, Western Europe, Japan, Austria, New Zealand and USA it will not be so much of a problem. Most starvation in the world today is due to war not food crop failures.
