@QuizmasterLaw Russia integration with the EU was always a fantasy of the Europeans but was never a reality. Neither was NATO membership. It was not to say that Russia could not be brought into the fold at some point but they as a culture rejected all such ideas with their own decisions.

You missed his point Javelins are not part of the US military backbone things like Helicopters, fighter jets, carriers and tanks are. The US even has the ability to convert tanks over to being missile launchers as it was previously explored. Even Humvees can be fitted out to take on tanks especially since several Humvee style trucks would cost the same as a tank but that does not mean they can replace a tank.

@QuizmasterLaw Let me guess Putin would be in charge of that harmonious economic community that would be the new Russian Empire. So how did that all work out if you do not mind me asking?

The EU as a a trade zone as it was originally planned was more effective. Within that their could have been a Nordic, Germanic and Latin alliances. Those regions could work on their strengths and weaknesses. Even movement of people which was more streamlined throughout Euro zone could have been achieved. There does not tend to be large numbers of Germans, Brits, Italians, French or Spanish moving around in the EU anyway.

@Fsegment1Test The EU has been a disaster of epic proportions. A Common Market with a permit based immigration system would have been a success. With that there would not have been vast numbers of people moving around so it would have worked. Even with the free movement of people today large numbers of Germans, Italians and French to not move around Europe.

Britain as in the UK post WW2 decided to focus all of it resources becoming a welfare state and decided that it would value things like the NHS over its naval forces. From that point onwards Britain was never going to be able to field a naval power that would allow it to rule the world's oceans. The decline was so bad in military force that the UK was getting the point that it may not be able to form a naval expeditionary force. Britain has now realigned its military to be capable of forming an expeditionary force meaning it could wage target naval warfare anywhere on earth but it has limitations and is nothing like the past.

They lack knowledge of the overall situation. By keeping Russia busy in Ukraine it stops them from expanding into Europe.

@superiordelivery4256 I am not convinced that any of this has anything to do with MAGA or left wing politics. People have concerns because the media are doing a terrible job of communicating the reality of the world. The fact you would even call house republicans commie loving is beyond a joke even with their being a left wing presence in the democratic party there is no love of Commies there either. I doubt there are no Russian puppets in the US political system just as the claims of their being Chinese agents embedded with democrats which is nonsense.
