  1. He never said it was perfect what he is saying is that certain countries are going to have to make peace and what that really means is make a deal. Make your peace does not necessarily mean it is complete peace.

  2. Turkey main problem is the PKK and they could cut a deal there if they were wise and gain more points with the European countries and also allow them to further negotiate with the US. The biggest problem Turkey has is that Erdoğan exerts too much power and his current policies have driven inflation to the point that it could cause their economy to collapse. Turkey has the exact same problem that China has in that there is no genuine political alternative because the opposition has been taken out. Turkey may even face collapse before the NATO issue comes to ahead.

  4. @Chas G The reason you think that is because you have a more romantic notion of European countries which in part has been pushed by American media. You will see it in films were they will present Europeans as this culturally diverse group that travel between their countries. In reality most Europeans do not travel and are not aware of other cultures. The most common type of travel in Europe is a 2 week vacation in Spain which is the equivalent of somebody in the US going to Florida, Caribbean Islands or Mexico. Peter is talking about Geopolitics and the only country on earth that offers protection to other countries is the US. If it was not for the US the European continent would now be the USSR and Asia would be the People's Republic.

  5. I do not think it would be in Sweden's interest to sell them fighter jets. Is suspect the socialists in Sweden will have to abandon the socialists of the Kurdish PKK.

  6.  @rodtukker1904  I do not think India supports Russia they are really trying to keep out of it. They do not want to offend Russia nor they do not want to offend the US. If push comes to shove India will probably choose the US and at the same time try not to offend Russia too much.
