  1. Ireland has about 11000 total troops so that divided by 26 counties is about 400 troops but that assumes they can muster that many for a defence force.

  2.  @NoName-pl7zm  Ireland has a GDP of about $560 billion and government spending of about $80 billion per year. During the pandemic Irish government spent $20 billion for its programs. If Ireland was to spend that money on its military it would have a cutting edge military.

  9. They are Irish economic waters and are considered international when they are passing through but are not allowed to camp there and act like it is their waters. Ireland just need to hope that they move on.

  11. Ireland's economic zone means it belongs to Ireland. Countries can pass through it without problems but not have their military camping out in it.

  12.  @patricktate4782  It does not mean what you think it a means. Those are Irish economic waters mean anything in that region belows to ireland such as oil and fish. Boats are free to travel through the water but not to be active in those waters.

  15. @Thiabault Dubois I think it is close to pre WW1 which had a banking crisis and power vacuums and also weak leadership. There is a little bit of WW2 in there as well. I have read the book which was fantastic cannot wait to see tv series.

  16. @Sharon McCauley History has shown those that defend neutrality are the first to sell out their country in occupations and become collaborators. Putting that aside there is no such thing as neutrality it does not exist.
