  1. Actually without immigration, Canada's economy is screwed. We have 300,000+ retiring from the workforce every year and nobody to replace them. And the scenario you describe almost describes the effects of a once in a lifetime pandemic. Otherwise, a UBI has been shown to work quite well in trials.

  3.  @rickvervoort9536  Well, assuming you are a Conservative and hate to pay tax, you'd think the idea of receiving say, $2k a month of your tax money back - that, that would appeal to you. But that's not the case when everyone gets the money, is it. Can you resist the urge to act like a victim and see how that $2k might make a positive difference in your life?
