@jerrymcgeorge4117 if Russia wins then effectively yes, the precedent would be set for the destruction of state sovereignty as a basic ordering principle of international organisation.

if the Peace of Westphalia (PW) is taken from 1648 then the modern sovereign state system is nearly 400 years old. In relative terms, Ukraine was 30-odd in 2022, the equivalent of 'invading' a three year old child.

@scottkrater2131 at the risk of history rhyming we are still only a year since 'invasion day' (feb 22) and china (prc) has been most quiet still. currently there is an implicit or unspoken 'bejing-kremlin' pact that has at least got the ccp on a wait-and-see hook. not saying that the prc/ccp/papf have national cpc / international socialist potential or anything yet something would be wrong if the post-20th powerholders are not watching how events unfold across ukraine and beyond pretty closely n'all.
