Learning from the frequent abuses of power in British history, the US Constitution specifically prohibits Acts of Attainer, there are no “Star Chamber” type courts allowed and treason trials are limited to serious acts of disloyalty to the country. One can’t be convicted of treason for having embroidered the wrong type of flower, as Margaret Pole was, or for saying the President is impotent, as George Boleyn did, sort of. My question is: how did Henry VIII achieve such control over his Parliaments? They would do whatever he wanted!
