I have always loved what I like to think of as English style houses. Here in Norway we mostly tend to use wood when building our houses. Houses made out of bricks are just too expensive. I have to say that seeing this video and listening to that old man talking about old times was really powerful. I have some questions though, and they mostly relate to the British infrastructure. I see that in what I would consider a decent radios there are some larger cities such as Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Hartlepool. I mentione these as I assume that there are jobs to be found in cities such as these. Is it so cheap to live in said cities that a 20 mile trip to work isn't worth it in order to get cheaper properties?

@bonvoyage5377 I clicked like on that. Not because I life the fact that there are no jobs, but because I appreciate you taking the time of day to tell me a bit about the inner workings of parts of the UK. You see, I tend to visit wherever over there, find some pubs and talk to folks. But I have not been to many cities in the North East. At least not after I became an adult...
