If she still has 1970 and the previous years going for her, consider yourself lucky. as my mom couldn't even remember who I was, and she was 10 years younger than yours....

@bananabreadloaf I remember seeing my mom look like she might have one of those moments, and it scared the hell out of me, as she was in full-blown dementia, and the thought of her having that moment of clarity, knowing she would have to "go back", would have been too much for both of us. Strangely enough, the reversion to child-like behavior made her feel happy, as by then she had no idea of her dire consequences.
