American Paisa Actually, the furloughed workers aren't eligible for unemployment benefits. I can't remember the exact wording, but it has something to do with the workers eventually being paid for their lost time that makes them ineligible.

@onlyonezay419 If a specific law serves no purpose, then it should be amended or repealed. Just because it was created 200 plus years ago doesn't automatically mean it has no relevance. Look at laws against murder, for example. The first laws against murder were more than likely passed in what would become the US ages before we even broke away from Britain. Should we scrap those just because they're around 300 years old?

@onlyonezay419 The way I understood it was that you believe that every law that was drawn up pre-21st century should be scrapped. While I do agree that laws should be reviewed periodically to make sure they're still relevant, I don't agree that laws should be invalidated only because they are old. (If you wish to be formal, it's "ma'am". 🙂)
