Do you really think most of the long-term homeless people are sleeping on the street because of high rent and housing costs? The problem is fentanyl and/or mental illness for most of them.

@Robgeee I get that someone could hit a bad streak of luck and wind up sleeping in their car and couch surfing for a few months. But it is insane to me that people who are functional enough to hold down a job would have their kids living in a car rather that moving somewhere else that is cheaper and doesn't have a problem with housing. San Diego is routinely voted the most unaffordable city in the country.
