New tech doesn't always grow exponentially, and never without bound. Plateaus are reached, and there's no guarantee the plateau for lab meat would be competitive against even un-subsidized farm meat.

@amanawolf9166 I believe you! But is there an easy explanation of why cells are hard, and brewing beer or fermenting yogurt are relatively easy?

@cinemapigeon4898 Except it's not just in the idea phase. As the video said, bioreactors have been in use for decades by pharmaceutical companies. Vat meat wants to take a mature technology and say they can do it 1000x cheaper, somehow. I note that we have no commercial supersonic planes today, despite many optimistic predictions.

@vadimemelin2941 People thought we would be traveling by suborbital rockets, or commuting to the Moon, by now. Nope. Even the one supersonic plane died despite subsidies.
