Bliar arbitrarily decreed that 50% of school leavers must go to university, for no better reason than to make himself look like a "champion of yoof culture". The inevitable result: massive dumbing-down, grade inflation and a landslide of pointless, worthless degrees in things like "Digital Lesbianism", "Pet Grooming", "Wakanda Studies", "Public Toilet Management", "Feline Transgender Issues", "Colouring-in", "Racial Grievance Studies" and "General Waffle".
