  1. carbon capture is just words. It is currently NOT being done in any meaningful capacity because it uses too much energy. what is the point of running a coal plant if you are using most of the generated energy to pump the co2 into the ocean or some rock formation. Also no one is sure that the CO2 will actually stay down there!

  2. it has always been BS I remember when the energy lobby plastered the walls of th dc subways with “clean coal” adds. Coal power plants will never be clean. Some coal is still required for steel but not a huge amount.
