  3. That young man's situational awareness was spot on that night...he probably saved his buddy & himself from a a bad knife wound, or even death. In NO WAY was the attacker "pulling my knives out to drop them"...we can see that after they're in his hands he takes another step or two forward -- at that point, the young man's punch was a clear-cut case of self-defense, as knives are considered deadly/lethal-force weapons, especially when drawn/held by someone under 7 meters from you. The suspect is lucky those young men weren't armed themselves, they'd be well within their rights to shoot him in that situation. Keep your head on a swivel out in public, folks.

Is Canes giving him BEQ (Bachelors Enlisted Quarters) housing, or housing assistance, or 3 free meals a day on base, or discounted prices at the PX, or free medical care, or free life insurance, or a pension...? The benefits can add up, even for lower enlisted ranks.
