If you behave this way in jobs outside Parliament, you can end up SACKED. MPs rarely face that sanction. They may lose a *ministerial*post, but they'll still be an MP. Look at what has happened with Johnson recently (June2023). He ran away, but the Committee only recommended his suspension, Parliament still has to vote to do it and even then, if his constituency don't create a petition to call for a by election, there wouldn't BE one and he'd remain an MP. It's only because he has run away like the coward he is, ie resigned, that he isn't an MP today.
As someone says in another comment, in most jobs (including mine) you're expressly forbidden to accept any sort of gift from people the company does business with. In my case, I was in purchasing, buying the products the firm used to make its own products and lots of people would have been only too happy to give me stuff to put business their way. I wasn't allowed to accept anything other than perhaps a calendar or diary (those were the days!) at Christmas. No bottles of booze, or golf days - both of which I know were offered to colleagues. It should be the same for MPs.
