@anjunadeep.8384 Why did 2 million Hong Kong people protested PEACEFULLY in June 2019? What did the beloved Hong Kong government do?
3
@Shenzhou. You didn't tell me what happened in Hong Kong on those 2 days.
3
@Offensively-normal Everyone knows that.😅
2
@Tespri You should go to China to check out the millions of empty apartments building. But please don't criticize the government or you will get into troubles.
2
Let's be straight. Mainland China is not in a military, political, and economic position to invade Taiwan anytime soon.
2
Well said. Since 2019 many people have left Hong Kong permanently. The property prices have collapsed, and recently Moody had downgraded Hong Kong's economic forecast. A strong and prosperous Hong Kong is important not just for Hong Kong, but for China as well.
2
@Shenzhou. 1) How do you know the protestors haven't read the bill before protesting? 2) What happened to Hong Kong on 9th June, 2019 and 16th June, 2019? Hint! It was not rioting.
2
@Shenzhou. The extradition bill might be good for YOU. But it was certainly not acceptable for the people of HONG KONG. HongKongers are generally apolitical. To evoke such a united, strong, negative response, the bill had really touched the nerve.
2
@JiaJiaVlog You mean Putin? That's why he launched the war in Ukraine.
2
@Shenzhou. Hong Kong has always paid a price for the drinking water to China. Hong Kong people are happy to pay for that. In fact, Hong Kong people have paid a higher price to China than Singaporeans paid to Malaysia for drinking water. Did the Hong Kong people complain? No. Because we do respect the mainland. You can call it colonial mindset to Beijing. Do mainlanders understand Hong Kong people?
1
@Shenzhou. So why didn't Hong Kong people protest China for overcharging the water? The answer is simple. Hong Kong people are grateful for it. Mainlanders don't understand HongKongers. We are not separatists, we are not rioters. We just want to be left alone, with a high degree of autonomy and not governed by Beijing. This is why hundreds of thousands stand out to protest the extradition bill, ALTHOUGH THE INTENT OF THE BILL WAS GOOD.
1
@Shenzhou. They carried United Kingdom flags NOT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BE COLONIAL subjects. They carried the flag because they were unhappy with the Hong Kong/ Beijing government and the flag is a sign of protest. I am not upset with you, but our viewpoints are different. Mainland Chinese see the Union Jack as the symbol of ALL EVIL because of all the numerous outrageous atrocities the Western countries had done to China during the century of humiliation. Hong Kong people see the Union Jack as a government who respects freedoms and democracy to the population. Again, I respect your viewpoints.
1
@Shenzhou. I am not expecting you to agree with Hong Kong people. But if you are wondering how come Hong Kong erupted into protest, that's why.
1
@Shenzhou. Hong Kong erupted over the extradition bill. Was it that badly censored in the mainland?
1
@Shenzhou. You still don't understand why Hong Kong people erupted into furious. I am not criticizing you. You just don't understand because of our different backgrounds. Hopefully, one day, more mainlanders will have a better understanding of Hong Kong.
1
@Shenzhou. Waving another country's flag is not a sign of separation. Something mainland Chinese may not be aware of. For example, last month many people in San Francisco waved the Chinese flag welcoming Xi Junping. They were not rioters, defiant or separationists, they waved the flag as a sign of respect and admiration.

@jascforfun7576 American democracy is terrible. It has been abused by money and opportunists (like Trump). Fortunately, American democracy is not the only democracy. There are many democracies in the world that frankly are much better.
1
@Shenzhou. The police were known to under report the numbers. But even with these numbers, it was still the largest peaceful antigovernment demonstration in China (Hong Kong is part of China). The voices of Hong Kong people could not have been clearer. Did China listen?
1
@rangerrick2246 That is the problem for many people from China, including this person. With all due respect, they don't understand Hong Kong people. Hong Kong people are proud to be part of China. They just want to have the freedoms and democracy guaranteed under the Basic law. They do not have a colonial mindset.
1
@rangerrick2246 An example of Hong Kong people's identity of being Chinese is today, December 16th, they line up in the Victoria Harbour to watch and cheer the Chinese home grown C919 passenger jet flying over Hong Kong. Hong Kong people do not hate mainland China, not at all, they just don't want to be controlled by Beijing.
1
@Shenzhou. What was China's response to the protest in June 2019? Even with the low count of 338,000, this still remained the largest anti government protest in China's history. Many of the demands are also pointing toward Beijing, such as democratic reforms. What did Beijing say about it?
1
@Shenzhou. The slogan "五大訴求,缺一不可‘ was all over Hong Kong and its medias. Everyone in Hong Kong knew about that. Didn't mainlander state run media published these? Are the Chinese State Run media factual or bias?
