Czechoslovakia all over again if short-sighted Trump has his way.

Give dictators a finger and they'll take the whole hand. Like Hitler with Czechoslovakia. Zelenksy offered Putin neutral status and to not join NATO. Putin already considers Ukraine part of Russia in his stated goal of a Noveau Rossia empire. Like Hitler's Greater Germany. And like Hitler, Putin will never stop with just Ukraine. Look at the map. Moldavia's next on Putin's shopping list. Then the Baltic states. If Ukraine were your country would you consider handing over a sizable chunk of your sovereign territory to a tyrant, leaving you with a rump state? All for dubious "peace" with Russia which never adheres to any treaty? Have you forgotten the 1991 Belgrade Agreement in which Russia guaranteed Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity for giving up their nuclear arsenal? Worst mistake they could ever have made. Trusting Russia's word and betting the ranch on it. Just a scrap of paper to Putin. Keeping their nuclear weapons and not trusting Russia would have 100% prevented what is now the costly Russo-Ukrainian war with no end in sight.

You dream. Crimea doesn't even belong to Russia anyway. The only land connection is to Ukraine proper. Would you give up this and another sizable chunk of your sovereign territory leaving you with nothing but a vulnerable rump state to be taken over later at Putin's leisure if it were your country? Like Hitler with Czechoslovakia? All for dubious "peace" with a Russia that NEVER adheres to its treaties? Oh my. Continue a costly war? When it's so easy to give the dictator what he wants? What about the 1991 Belgrade Agreement signed by Russia guaranteeing Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity for giving up their nuclear weapons. How did that work out? Just a scrap of paper to Putin in his oft stated goal of his Noveau Rossia empire. Shades of Hitler's Greater Germany. Czechoslovakia. "Peace in our time". What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing and expecting different results? Putin already considers Ukraine historically part of Russia. Think he'll stop with just Ukraine? Look at the map. He wants his land bridge to the sea. He fancies himself a 2-bit Peter the Great, his hero, and wants his 18c conquests back. Moldavia's next on Putin's shopping list. Then likely the Baltic states that Russia used to own. Ah, yes. "Peace" for land. Enjoy your little dream world.
