  1. Thank you again for this. No matter how clear you are, there will always be someone trying to change the story to fit their own views. Many Southerners who complain about what happened are young and poorly educated, having grown up in a world that has moved away from traditional values. They don’t really understand the historical context and believe it gives them a reason to discuss it. I really appreciate how you presented the Confederate cause, highlighting both its negative and positive aspects, without falling into the trap of a defeatist narrative that blames everything on Western values. This perspective doesn’t align with what the Confederates believed at the time. Americans often tend to identify with groups without truly understanding their history
