I have a feeling that the reporter didn't think that there was a way out for DeSantis. I'm sure he thought that DeSantis would embarrass himself and was quite surprised when DeSantis had a good answer for him.

@WokeBegone Trying to convert the indoctrinated is futile. It will invariably turn into an argument rather than a search for truth and it just ends up embarrassing both sidess. Most people won't change their minds until their favourite media source tells them to. As an example....I have friends who thought that the Covington Kids were just plain horrific, when that story broke. Not one of them would take the time to verify its veracity. Even when I tried to show them the original video, the one that the edited version came from, would they even believe me, mostly because they refused to even look at it. Suddenly, the MSM had no choice but to rescind all their original stories. It was only THEN that my friends realised that they'd been wrong. It's the same with the story of "good people on both sides" about Trump. Finally, when the MSM started to acknowledge that Trump did condemn white supremacy, in that speech, did my friends grudgingly admit that he didn't say anything wrong. I could give you dozens of examples why attempts at conversion are a waste of time.
