That's why every Republican vote has to be done, in person, at the polling stations. That way, if it is a landslide, there will be no chance that the mail in ballots can total more than the total of all registered voters. They can try to cheat but 2 + 2 does NOT equal 5, no matter how hard they try.

yeah, right It can't be nepotism because the presidency isn't an appointed position by the previous president. The RNC has to go through the process and they're not related to the Trumps. If Ivanka is to run for the presidency, she'll have to earn by showing that she can do it....and she just might do just that. Of course, it won't hurt her chances if Trump does a good job in his second term.

wings of a butterfly That's only because they don't lynch anymore, no matter what the Dems say. However, metaphorical lynching still happens. Just because you have new weapons doesn't mean you no longer follow your old precepts.

@sep9960 There are about 900 Americans in Syria at the moment. That's NOT a lot of soldiers. Syrian forces could take over those oil fields with a concerted effort if they want. Trump wanted to pull the ALL out but, like you said, he was criticised for abandoning the Kurds. So, it would appear that we're stuck there for good. If Trumps orders the troops out, he's turning his back on the Kurds and if he stays, he's helping to steal oil. Talk about being wrong all the time. Destabilising Afghanistan? Are you serious? It's a mess right now. There are American soldiers, serving right now, that weren't even born yet when Bush invaded Afghanistan in his botched search for Bin Laden. I guess we're there forever as well. The forever wars.....sort of like in Orwell's "1984". Can't leave because you're a deserter and can't stay because you're a warmonger. What a predicament, especially considering that the Iraqi war was considered illegal in the first place. Trump can't even withdraw from an illegal war.

The Americans aren't fighting in Yemen, have no troops in Syria, reduced forced in Iraq (q) and Trump wants out of Afghanistan against the wishes of the DNC. Also, there is the peace deal between the UAE and Israel. None of that was the case over the last 20 years. At least, American involvement has been greatly reduced and will continue to do so if Trump has his way.

@sep9960 I will have to agree that he hasn't brought full peace to the middle east but things are better than they have been in years. ISIS is basically gone and what we have left is the rift between Sunni and Shia in Iraq, Syria and Yemen. That's not really the US fight but they're stuck there. 900 troops in Syria isn't a force. It's a token presence at best. Those 900 troops aren't going to stop any action against the Kurds by the Turks or anyone. Trump wants out of Iraq as well but we know that the Shia and Sunni will be at each other's throats with Shia getting support from Iran and Sunni from Saudi Arabia. How's that the responsibility of the US? Same as with Afghanistan. Trump will leave, if he wins this fall and the Taliban will attempt a takeover. They'll do it next year or in ten years. It'll only stop if the Taliban are completely routed or they win and then there will be peace in Afghanistan. In either case, the US must leave and that's what Trump wants. Maybe what should be said is that Trump is bringing peace to the middle east and it's part of the process that he's trying to set in motion.
