Newsom was all about using authoritarian tactics, on ordinary law abiding citizens, to save people from Covid. However, he looks the other way when it's criminals destroying the lives of those same law abiding people. Also, those criminals in jail, have to show that they're seeking redemption BEFORE you let them out. It's NOT compassionate to the criminal or his victim to let them out without first proving that they're serious about turning their life around. You don't hand out redemption like candies on Halloween. Redemption is earned.
