  1. We aren't allowed private health care here in Ontario, Canada. At first, it seemed great. Health care paid for by the government. Still lots of doctors. However, we've seen the number of doctors erode. Our local hospital, which was a fully operational hospital 40 years ago, is now no better than a glorified clinic. They have X-ray machines and an MRI but they there's hardly any beds and the delivery room is gone. It's a shadow of what it used to be and it was expanded 18 years ago. They've even talked about closing it. Yet, our population is 30% greater than it used to be and growing fast. Wait times are unbelievable. The number of doctors hasn't increased and getting a family doctor is a daunting task. Don't let them take away your options by not allowing private health insurance. When you only have one option, they dictate the health system and if anyone even suggests improvements, those who favour socialised medicine start going on about 2 tiered systems and how it's not fair. It's a nightmare and it's not going to improve any time soon. Probably after their "care" kills me.
