Comments by "" (@death_parade) on "Is Japan on course to become a military superpower?" video.
@tvgerbil1984 Lmao. That is not what the definition of a military superpower is. By your definition, even puny Great powers like UK would qualify as a "superpower". Superpowers don't absolutely need to have expeditionary capabilities. Superpowers can be of two types: Offensive or Defensive. An Offensive Superpower can be defined as a nation that can exert a military force equal to or greater than that of a Great Power even far away from its own shores. A Defensive Superpower can be defined as a nation that can successfully defend itself against an attack by multiple Great Powers simultaneously. And by these definitions only USA and maybe China would qualify as superpowers (offensive and defensive respectively). In other words, this channel, like multiple other commentators, is using the term "superpower" rather loosely.

Reason why I think the Japanese should stop subordinating themselves to Western imperial scum like you. About time they went full steam ahead. Should test some nukes while they are at it too. And then partner with Asian nations, create an anti-imperial grouping.

Lmao. Some of your Brits live in your own little lala land, don't you? Take away your carriers and Japanese have a much stronger Navy than you. And their Army is also obviously much stronger. Wake up. Or don't. Live in denial lol.

Passive? They've got a military stronger than UK! They just don't use them often.

@nckweeks Incorrect. Germans remain very active even since WW2. Only change was that Germans became just another American vassal state that fights USA's wars for it and aligns its foreign policy with USA's. Germans are just incompetent at maintaining a powerful military these days. That is all. Germany is nothing like Japan in that regard. Japanese are indeed under the American thumb, but they have their self respect. They refuse to get involved in foreign wars as a matter of principle. And it is not something at a foreign policy level, it has happened to them on a civilizational level. Comparing the two is apples and oranges.

@nckweeks LIke I just told you. Japan actually tuned pacifist. But Germany just changed sides: from its own, to America's. Both dropped their pre-war doctrines. That is where the similarity ends.

@BHARATIYA_TIGER Bhaiya ji, Japan is stronger. I know you are talking about the GFP rankings, but GFP rankings are actually trash. UK is only considered stronger in that ranking due to its Nukes. And comparisons like the ones GFP does are stupid anyways. I have studied in depth the military orbat and to&e of multiple nations and I have a very deep understanding of military technology. So I know what I am talking about. Conventionally, UK is inferior in strength, although given their force mixes and the political grand strategies behind each of them, this is an Apples to Oranges comparison. Let me drop another similar fact on you that will bust a common misconception: There is this misconception that Chinese Army is larger than Indian Army. Actually, the Indian Army is larger than Chinese Army (in terms of actual field formations that it can deploy). Agar abhi bhi koi doubt hai toh batao, I can do a few doubt clearing sessions for free for my countrymen. Try to take it one at a time though, so that we can discuss one topic in depth before moving on to another.

You really need to take a look at the kind of battles they will have to fight before reprimanding them for not having enough tanks. First ground battles will be for control of Senkaku islands. And frankly, PRC is far from engaging the Japanese in Senkaku, forget mainland Japan. PRC's first aims will be either India or Taiwan. They are pushing those envelopes the most right now. India is the safer bet because on ground the escalation ladder is more controllable, as compared to the water that divides China and Taiwan. But if it escalates, Taiwan is the safer bet because India is nuclear and much more capable than Taiwan is. But then in the Oceans, PRC will face an uphill battle against the USN and maybe even the JMSDF. So its a difficult choice for Xi either way because he can't aim to lose.

@markcummings6856 Lmao. The average "generol" who thinks men are not a factor anymore in military strength.
