Congratulations to Finland for choosing to buy 64 F-35s. Well done. Finland has had enough of being invaded by Russia.

@fw2699 F-35 beat out Rafales, Typhoons and Gripens and the competition wasn't even close. Finlands' F-35s will automatically network with Norway's F-35s thus exponentially increasing their overall strength in networking and long range sensors. Wise move by both countries.

@PZantanKilla Russia can't even sell Su-35s and/or Su-57s to India. India rejected both and bought the extremely expensive Rafales instead. And btw, Rafales lost to F-35s in the Finnish competition.

@overlord4404 Russia is the only reason Finland would possibly want a stealth 5th generation aircraft. Otherwise, choose cheaper Gripens which, btw, were among the aircraft F-35s beat out.

@jioboy2676 Don't need to be an expert to read what the Finns themselves have said about their F-35 competition. Btw, Finland, Norway and Sweden regularly exercise militarily with each other and Norway's F-35s are part of the exercises. Soon Finnish F-35s will be networking with Norway's F-35s. Russia will love that.

@aburetik4866 India knows about J-20s. India detects them on radar with no problems or special settings. India has decided that Rafales are plenty to deal with anything China can get in the air including J-20s. And just to remind, Rafales lost to F35s in the Finnish competition.

@aburetik4866 Whatever happened doesn't seem to impress Finland since Rafales lost to F-35s in their evaluation.

@inwedavid6919 The world of F-35 foreign sales is bigger than Switzerland and Finland as individual countries. Japan is converting two helicopter carriers specifically to operate F-35Bs giving Japan the first fixed-wing carriers since WWII. South Korea plans to build one carrier just to carry its 20 F-35Bs. Two UK 65,000 ton carriers are built specifically for F-35Bs. Italy has one F-35B carrier. NATO and non-NATO US Allies and partners are buying F-35s for many reasons including being able to network and fuse F-35 sensors from more than a dozen other countries that also operate F-35s from land and sea.

@PZantanKilla Besides India buying extremely expensive Rafales instead of much cheaper Su-35s, UAE just announced an 80 Rafael buy. UAE and Russia have good military relations. And yet Russia can't even sell Su-35s to UAE vs. Rafales. So Putin can't sell Su-35s to two countries, India and UAE, who are historically friendly to Russia. Both choosing expensive Rafales instead. Maybe Indonesia should consider that India and UAE might know something about Russian equipment that Indonesia doesn't.

@aburetik4866 Finland is not a NATO member. However, fellow F-35 buyer Norway is. And it is clear that Norway and Finland, who regularly exercise together, will be able to combine their F-35s in joint operations networking their combined sensors together and thus exponentially increasing their combined strength.

@inwedavid6919 Advocacy for the F-35 doesn't always go well. A German Luftwaffe chief publicly recommended F-35s as the best choice for Germany. He was fired because his military opinion was not in line with the political opinion of his civilian bosses.

@Xtremedia01 Both India and UAE have rejected Su-35s and are buying very expensive Rafales instead. And Rafales lost to F-35s in the Finnish competition.
