@wilburgraham6260 During the Trump administration 53 US service personnel were killed in Afghanistan. It is absolutely pathetic that you attempted to make a grub like political point using the sacrifice of US military personal for your own grubby argument. Truely pathetic.

@robjones1943 The Trump administration signed the surrender document with the Taliban. I mean this is on the public record. Don’t believe me research the Doha agreement. Trump had reduced US military to only a few thousand, that could barely defend themselves, again this is on the public record. Rightly or wrongly Trump surrendered Afghanistan, Biden just implemented his plan. And yes once again US intelligence got it badly wrong and Trump would have received the same intelligence. It is ludicrously stupid to suggest the withdrawal from Afghanistan would have been any different under the Trump administration.

@Joshdyisdifh And your evidence for this claim is? The reason I ask is that the Trump administration had reduced the US military in Afghanistan by Jan 2020 to only 2500. I don’t know how much you know about defending an airbase the size of Bagram but 2500 isn’t even enough to defend themselves let alone effectively defend an airfield. Im sorry but your comment is illogical nonsense.

@hchan3860 Because the US signed a legally enforceable international agreement.

@Joshdyisdifh And what difference did that make. Are you suggesting a minor date change that was agreed to by the Taliban made anything different. You are clutching at straws.

@Joshdyisdifh I have already explained the US troop strength in Afghanistan in Jan 20 was only 2500. That was not enough to defend Bagram airbase and no chance of defending the civilian airport as well. What aren't you getting about this. The Biden administration used the Trump plan. I'm not suggesting they didn't make mistakes as well. But the ridiculous suggestion that the withdrawal would have been any different under Trump is just your partisan political uninformed opinion. If the US had left just 10000 troops in Afghanistan along with 15000 other NATO and Australian troops, Afghanistan would still be under Western influence.
