Just my two bobs worth, but I think this election shows that people are no longer voting on party lines but are looking at specific issues, and I think all parties will need to closely monitor their policies and adjust as required. We have just had a big spending Liberal/National government and Labor dropped most of their wealth redistribution tax’s to get elected so the norms seem to be moving. I think the days of one side getting over 40% of the primary vote is well into the future.
