@motorsportfreak1 Virtually the entire coal powered electricity generation in China is running at about 40% of capacity as renewables take over. China adds about 3Gw of renewable electricity a week to its grid. Thanks for bringing up China as an example of how well renewables are entering the market.

@cranegantry868 Currently approximately 35% of China energy demands are supplied using renewables. In 2022 China added more solar than the rest of the world combined. The reference for this data is "Energy Digital".

@cranegantry868 According to CREA China, in the first half of 2024, reduced coal power permits by 83% compared to H1 2023, permitting only 9 gigawatts (GW) in H1 20241. Following the surge in coal power permits exceeding 100 GW annually in 2022 and 2023, the current decline in coal power activity is further reflected in the reduction of new and revived coal power proposals, totalling 37 GW in early 2024, down from 60 GW in early 2023.

@cranegantry868 All you have provided is nonsensical anecdotal stories of fallacious garbage. Try and actually provide some evidence to support your claim.

@cranegantry868 OMG I’m so sorry I offended your poor sensibilities. You were obviously unable to comprehend the data I provided, or research the references. I have no objection to nuclear power other than its cost. The SMRs you talk of are still years away from being commercially viable. There are only two in existence one in China and one in Russia both have proven to be uneconomical. NuScales attempts at a commercial viable SMR failed in the US and went out backwards with $billions in debt.

@cranegantry868 Fusion reactors have been a pipe dream for generations. I won’t be holding my breath. Thankyou though for being so concerned about my employment prospects. However watching the test cricket (somewhat embarrassing for Australia at the moment) and commenting on YouTube are eating up my time in retirement at the present.

That’s correct gas was and is always part of AMEO plan to provide electricity to the grid.

@cranegantry868 Yes more nonsensical vacuous garbage from you, not unlike your original comment.
