I haven’t heard a single scare word or suggestion of such. All I have heard is the economics of nuclear don’t add up when compared to renewables.

@clydesimpson1462 Don’t give a flying rats arse what Bowen would say. I have no problems with the safety and reliability of nuclear power, but have yet to see any coherent argument about the economic benefit of spending $billions of taxpayers money on 7 reactors which by the time they came online would be providing less than 10% of the grids demand. There is no interest by the private sector to invest unless backed by significant government subsidies, so these PWR will be owned by the state. Since when has the LNP become a socialist party?

I don't give a rats what Bowen says. I have no problems with the safety and reliability of PWRs, however the economics of 7 PWRs introduced into the Australian market doesn't make any sense.

Why should we build coal and nuclear plants? When there is significantly cheaper means of producing electricity why choose the most expensive (nuclear)? Have you ever heard of anthropogenic climate change?

@clydesimpson1462 No it's not. There are multiple real world examples where nuclear produced electricity is significantly more expensive than solar and wind produced electricity.
