On any of the privately owned or leased properties anywhere in Australia. What’s the difference? Can you walk into Gina Rinehearts cattle properties? Again what’s the difference?

@antonmiles8167 when we’re you ever able to just walk through anyones property?
1
@antonmiles8167 Yes I understand you feel you should have the privilege to go wherever you want, regardless of who owns it and whatever restrictions they place on it, you feel you should be able to ignore them. Good on you.

@antonmiles8167 So I don’t understand, do you believe it property rights or not? I have little knowledge of aboriginal culture but understand indigenous people have a connection to the land they live on. In my western culture land ownership and property rights go back approximately 6000 years to the first recorded instance of formal property boundaries, that I understand.

@antonmiles8167 Yes, the first known laws on property were written on clay tablets and stone cravings from ancient Mesopotamia. They still exsist today and predate any Judeo-Christian writings by over 600 years. This is just common public knowledge. These ancient writings form the basis of our modern day property rights. I'm not sure characterising pre 1788 aboriginal land management as superstitious is quite accurate. It may not have been the same as or as technologically advanced but indigenous land management still took place.

@antonmiles8167 I really don’t know enough about indigenous culture to comment about claims of various spiritual significance. I’m an atheist so to me all claims of spirituality are nonsense. I understand your point and do agree that it can cause tension when areas that were public use are then deemed off limits, on the other hand being respectful of someone’s beliefs is important to.

@antonmiles8167 I would not be as presumptuous to suggest what other people believe and are you suggesting that Christians don't believe a God takes attendance records on a Sunday. I patronise all spiritual belief, indigenous people are not alone in believing some weird shit, Christians believe you can't mix your cloths or eat shellfish, Jews and Muslims don't eat pork.
1
@antonmiles8167 Yes this does get a bit confusing when it appears in my thread but not yours. I didn’t suggest you believed anything, I just said I wouldn’t be as presumptuous to speak for everyone when you said “we” don’t believe these stories when clearly there are indigenous groups that do.
