@LukeXMV What don’t they like, Democracy, rule of law, universities, hospitals, antibiotics, written language. Yes indigenous cultures suffered and badly and yes western expansionism during the enlightenment could of been handled better, however this is where we are.

@pookeyhutchison7838 Just a technical issue there. As much of a fan as I am of my British heritage we neither invented the wheel or healthcare. Both these things were introduced into English culture in exactly the same way as we introduced into Australia.

@hc3657 Rubbish. You can respect and appreciate indigenous culture and at the same time I can take the piss out of my own culture. Western Civilisation made many mistakes, however one of its greatest strengths is its ability to learn from them. I’ll celebrate and stack my western culture up against anything else anytime.

@LukeXMV I think modern western societies do have a level of mental illness not seen previously. A modern western secular liberal social democratic Australia is as far as I can see not often matched.
