  2.  @jaygee1103  Yes that is definitely a type of voice, but the indigenous community are asking for a constitutionally enshrined voice not a legislated one. This is a fundamental difference.

  5.  @echelon2k8  No it was, and disingenuously I might add. The constitution was written by privileged white Anglosaxon men. Only those men participated in the debates, conventions, and subsequent referendum, all but some white privileged women in SA and WA. Sections 25, 51(xxiv), and 127 were all explicitly racist. Using those racist elements of our constitution native aboriginals were denied citizenship and voting rights. Racist legislation also prevented Chinese and Africans land ownership rights in WA to stop them having gold leases. Our racist constitution also allowed the immigration act 1901 which was the white Australia policy. So yes ethic minorities have been discriminated against as well as indigenous people. That’s why I support your concept of a bill of rights.
