So Australia Day from 1915 to 1935 was 30 July. Yes you can change the date as it was changed to 26 Jan. You are factually wrong.

@gregjenkins2925 In some sense you are correct in 1949 what is now called the Citizenship act was passed in Federal parliament on 26 Jan, however this didn't relate to all Australians as for instance indigenous people in WA and QLD were still denied the right to vote, so it can hardly be called unifying. Also the date had already been changed in 1935 from the 30 Jul to 26 Jan to recognise the first fleet arrival in Port Jackson. This decision was controversial at the time as it was considered to Sydney centric for a national day.
