Comments by "" (@pwillis1589) on "Australia has to ‘recognise a spectrum of threat’: Jim Molan" video.
Molan had 9 years to influence LNP defence policy, it is ludicrous he now criticises government policy.

@PJRayment You clearly have no understanding of political influence. Jim Molan has been thick with the LNP since being a key designer of OP Sovereign Borders in 2013. It is not just his time in parliament that he had a say in LNP policy. He was a very average General, while commanding Operations in Iraq the US suffered its worst casualties and the insurgency reached its peak. The points he makes are obvious and offer no new perspective or insightful ideas.

@PJRayment Yes I completely agree I have no understanding why Molan has as much influence in the LNP as he does and they have given the defence spokesperson job to a much more junior and considerable less experienced Hastie. His unimaginative and pedestrian observations are relevant considering his experience and knowledge of defence matters. Yes he was in command of operations in Iraq. He was seconded to the US and was the Chief of Operations in Iraq in 2004. I have no idea why Sky keep trotting him out, there are considerable better people available.

@PJRayment There is little indication the LNP has shifted to the right since its defeat at the federal election. Yes the right wing nutjob commentators on Sky would like that to happen, but the LNP lost because it wasn’t centred enough. If the LNP allow Molan and other right wing elements influence it will be a gift to the Labor party.

@PJRayment That is a wonderfully shallow analysis of the state of the LNP and the seats it lost, which were almost all to the socially progressive teals. The LNP lost federally because Morrison had lurched to the right, Catherine Deves being a classic example of the worst choice for a candidate as humanly possible. A move further to the right will ensure political oblivion. No, ultra right wing nutjobs is an accurate and objective description of most of the after dark commentary on Sky. I don't give a rats arse what the LNP do but a shift to the right in policy will ensure a long time in opposition. Finally thankyou for confirming my analysis, for all long as you believe a shift further to the right is in the interests of the LNP politically then the vast majority of Australians can rest in assurance that it will be years before the LNP govern federally again. Hopefully you can make that happen.

@PJRayment The sheer idiocy of your reply is a joy to behold. I can only hope that you have some influence with the LNP. Please please please tell me this is so. Please tell me you are able to influence LNP policy. All I can say is I agree 100% with all your points and you go right on believing them to be why the LNP lost. You are probably the best thing ever to happen to the Labor party.

@PJRayment In what was one of the safest Liberal seats in the country the Liberal candidate Catherine Deves actually managed to lose 5.7% of the primary vote from the 2019 election. Zali Steggall increased her primary vote and absolutely smashed Deves with a 2PP 61% of the votes. I mean Phil this is just common public knowledge. Please tell me you can influence LNP policy please.
