I’d like to see him back up his claim of rampant child sexual abuse amongst the indigenous community of Alice Springs with just one actual factual incident.

@daniellebcooper7160 I have for 9 years, that proves nothing. Please just provide some real evidence not just this anecdotal fallacious rubbish. I have no doubt some poor child has been sexually assaulted in Alice Springs, just prove it is rampant.

Please send me a link or reference to some report or data or anything that proves rampant child sexual abuse in Alice Springs. I am not denying it happens only that there is no evidence of such, please provide it. Just blindly accepting it is the case because somebody says so is to me ludicrously stupid.

@area51isreal71 So Alice springs Police data on sex crimes for the current year is minus 10% from last year with a total of 80 cases in the year. Repeat these are Alice Springs police own data. 80 cases among 25000 people might be high or low I don’t know. But let’s stick to some facts here.

@area51isreal71 Seriously you don’t think a politician would attempt to politicise an incident for their own gain. Don’t get me wrong I’m not suggesting in any way horrific sexual abuse doesnt happen, as it happens in all communities. We have had two Royal commissions into sexual abuse one of them specifically about child abuse. Neither have found any significant increase of sexual abuse in the indigenous community.

I have no doubt child sex abuse is happening in Alice Springs as it is in every part of the country. Can somebody, anybody provide some data or real evidence it is rampant or just significantly above the national average. Not just this he said she said crap.

@lucasroe2878 I have no doubt nurses in Alice Springs have witnessed the horrific results of child sex abuse. The nursing staff at the Royal North Shore hospital can tell stories of the sexual assault they have witnessed, what does that prove?

@domenica5714 So what you have presented as an argument is anecdotal and is fallacious. I'm not for one minute claiming some poor child was not terribly abused but Dutton is using this incident or a couple of them to state it is rampant. There has been no statistical evidence or data to support his claim. Are you seriously suggesting I take the word of a politician as gospel? Surely you can see how illogical your argument is?

@Want0nS0up So that is a strawman argument and immediately places your reply as fallacious nonsense as I never suggested women and children are not terrified of sexual abuse. Pell was convicted by a jury backed up by a Supreme Court appeal and had his conviction squashed by the High court. If Pell wasn't an abuser as his victim says he was he certainly was complicite in multiple cases of child sex abuse as per the findings of the Royal Commission into child sexual abuse. Milton Orkopolous has been convicted twice of multiple sex offences against children, may he rot in hell, not that i believe in it but maybe he does, or atleast spend a long time in prison. And finally I deny nothing I simply asked for evidence. You provided nothing but illogical fallacious gibberish.

@daniellebcooper7160 Leayner actually. My work took me to several remote communities over the years, and yes some of them were in extremely poor condition. I noticed to how quite often the kids looked in poor health with runny noses, but once again my personal experience is worthless as evidence as it is anecdotal, it proves nothing. I'm not denying children in Alice Springs are being abused, but before I accept it is rampant or significantly above the national average I want evidence. Surely you can see the logic in that?

@daniellebcooper7160 It is a criminal offence in the NT to not report sexual assault of any kind. Provide me the names and details of these paramedics and police officers and I will notify the authorities immediately.

I have repeatedly asked for facts and or actual evidence and have been given nothing, absolutely zero zip nothing. Third hand reports from 15 years ago and unsubstantiated claims from a politician. 24 hours and still not a single piece of evidence. All I have been given is anecdotal conversations from second, third, and fourth hand parties. Not a single piece of concrete evidence child sexual abuse is rampant in Alice Springs. You all folded like a cheap suit when called out to prove your claims. Go and read the Royal Commission into child sex abuse findings if you are really concerned about children's welfare or is the real motive here to just attempt to degenerate the indigenous community. Well you all clearly failed to achieve that.

@Want0nS0up I can provide documentary evidence that establishes beyond all reasonable doubt that sexual assaults happen in Alice Springs. You however in your blind devotion or political leaning have failed to understand my point. I asked for evidence of rampant sexual abuse or some evidence even that there has been a sudden or increased incidence of sexual abuse, but the crime data from the Alice Springs own police reports has sex crimes on the slight decrease. Once again it’s been two days and not a single piece of evidence that shows rampant child sex abuse in Alice Springs.
