No he can’t. There is a process. Can the President declassify the names of CIA agents currently working covertly. Can the President declassify the US nuclear weapons technology just by saying so. Your comment is ridiculous.

By Australians do you mean the couple of thousand that watch his show on cable every night and the 10000 odd that watch it online. My farts have more influence than he does.

No that is not being patriotic that is following a demagogue. What is truely patriotic is supporting the democratically elected President of the day, be it Republican or Democrat. You may not agree with the government that is in power however your vote can change that. Both parties believe they are doing the best for the country. Being patriotic is supporting the US not a particular person, that is just idiotic demagoguery.

@Halos_and_Horns vacuous gibberish.

@onewayturtles Actually no it isn't. Depending on the sample, questions asked, and other variables they have proved in the past to be extremely accurate. US polling agencies and companies continually refine their methods to improve their product otherwise nobody would pay them money to do the polling.

@preacherF-15 No you are totally wrong. Read the law. Basic laws and authorities: National Archives. The President has limited ability to declassify documents originated by himself, and they can ask for other documents to be declassified, but they have to be assessed by the owner agency. Where do you get your information. Do you just blindly believe what you hear?

@richardlafleur8389 Do I really need to repeat for the third time US law.

@Halos_and_Horns emjois, really that's the level of your vocabulary.

In 2016 when Trump was elected Republicans held the house, the senate, and the Presidency. Four years later all of those gains were completely lost. The Democrats would be praying for Trump to run again it would be the best outcome possible.

@ABD-pc3jf You are hopelessly misinformed. Read the National Archives: Basic laws and guidelines. The President has limited ability to declassify documents originated by the white house, everything else has a process. The President may ask for documents to be declassified but that permission may not be given. Do you just make shit up to suit your ignorant opinion just because someone told you something.?

@UCWDv9r5OiTUBVT3Le8OMBEw Links don’t work on YouTube, but if you search the internet for US Archives: Basic laws and guidelines on classifying and declassification of documents you will find the President does not have the absolute power you think they have just because President Trump told you so. He was lying. There is a clear and open process to declassifying documents. The US is not a dictatorship.

@richardlafleur8389 On a side note what a stupid comment to make about knowing I'm wrong or a idiotic comment on being flustered. Are you not capable of a discussion on the facts without attempting to use childish debate tactics.

@preacherF-15 This has got nothing to do with Biden or Trump, this has do to with the letter of the law. Any President as mentioned before does have a limited ability to declassify documents they originated other than that if the President what's to declassify anything it must be requested, processed, and documented. As a military officer surely you can understand this. President Trump is just plain wrong or are you suggesting he is infallible. Read the laws and guidelines on document classification in the National Archives and make your own decision. Don't just assume President Trump knows enough, he is clearly wrong on this issue.

@preacherF-15 What a ludicrously stupid reply to my comment. To accuse me of drinking the koolaid when all I did was cite the actual law relating to US document control. You on the other hand have just blindly accepted the word of someone else without engaging your own brain. Are you just too lazy to read the official guidelines that are the law. God help the US if this is the standard of intellect that is allowed to vote, and will will leave it at that.

@darylephillips6778 Yes you are correct. BS it is, I mean do these numbnuts really think Presidential power is absolute. There is a legislative, there is a judiciary, the US is not a dictatorship.
1
@bigfellamike1913 Your comment shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the basic laws regarding classifying and declassifying US documents. While you are correct the President can declassify documents originated by himself he can’t declassify all secret documents from other agencies without going through a process and getting approval. It maybe these type documents the DOJ is investigating. ie if President Trump released documents relating to US nuclear submarine technology that would be a crime, if he just released a document that has a personal letter from himself to the director of the CIA that would be fine. There I cleared that up for you. No need for a thankyou.
